The Tel Aviv municipality is giving serious consideration to a proposal meant to facilitate divorces in the city. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, one out of every four Tel Aviv couples divorces, and 20 percent of the city’s families are single-parent households, a rate considerably higher than the national average.
The proposal was submitted by Ronen Dlayahu, chairman of the Israel Bar Association’s Tel Aviv district family committee, who has been involved in a similar initiative in Ramat Gan.
The project, called One by One – Attorneys for Cooperative Divorce, would make divorce far less traumatic and costly, Dlayahu said. Read more
