“The source of the problem is the Quran itself…anyone who reads it either leaves it or becomes a terrorist.”
That claim, made on a Facebook page supporting Pegida, is one of countless similar allegations being circulated on the internet by anti-Islam and far-right groups.
But is the Quran actually any more violent than the Bible or Torah? Not according to Dr Ed Kessler, the founding director of the Woolf Institute of interfaith relations.

I think that no one has any doubt that Quran and Islam don’t accept terrorism , but the same can’t be said for the beliefs , the majority of Muslims have . The popular Muslim ideology not only open the door for violence but also provokes . Mob lynching is legitimised in the name of blasphemy . If you are a Muslim and differ from the popular Muslim ideology , you deserve death penalty because you are a murteed . Murder of an innocent is considered a heinous crime in any society but Muslims . A murderer is hated in every society but in Pakistan he is worshipped . In the Muslim society , people are encouraged to shed blood of innocents in the name of Islam for the sake of 72 hooren . Existing Muslim ideology is a great threat to humanity , no doubt .
