JUSTICE FORUM – To commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Muslim Congregation (JAI) held a National Insight Workshop at Baitul ‘Affiyat, Parung, Bogor Regency, on Sunday, 23/8/2026.
Carrying the theme “Strengthening National Insight, Cultivating Love for the Homeland, and Strengthening Real Contributions to National Unity and Progress”, this activity is a momentum to reflect on the meaning of independence while encouraging the younger generation to continue to cultivate love for Indonesia through real contributions.
The discussion, which started at 09.00 WIB, presented a number of speakers from the Indonesian Ministry of Religion, UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, Paramadina University Jakarta, and Jamiah Internasional Ahmadiyah Indonesia.
National Leader: Never Tire of Loving Indonesia
The main event was opened with a keynote speech by the National Amir of the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation, Zaki Firdaus Syahid, ST, MT. In his remarks, he reminded everyone that the spirit of loving Indonesia should never be extinguished, even though this nation faces various challenges.
“Never lose hope. Never tire of loving Indonesia. Because Indonesia is us, Indonesia is our home, Indonesia is our homeland, Indonesia is part of our identity,” he said.
He believes that gratitude for independence cannot be expressed merely through celebrations; it must also be demonstrated through concrete actions. These include upholding honesty, rejecting corruption, upholding justice, avoiding drugs, and contributing to peace.
Discussing Tolerance and the Role of the Younger Generation
The workshop was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Khoirotun Nisak, M.Phil., Program Director of the Paramadina Center for Religion and Philosophy, Paramadina University, Jakarta.
The discussion featured three speakers with different perspectives on nationality, diversity, and the role of the younger generation.
Dedi Slamet Riyadi, M.Ag., Head of the Islamic Library Sub-Directorate, presented a presentation on “The Young Generation as Drivers of Diversity: Fostering Tolerance, Combating Discrimination, and Building an Inclusive Social Space.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Naila Farah, M.Ag., Dean of the Faculty of Da’wah and Islamic Communication at UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, raised the theme “Religious Moderation in the Digital Generation Era: Making Religiousness a Strength of National Unity and Peace.”
Meanwhile, Attaul Ghalib Yudhihadian, M.Pd., Vice Chancellor of Jamiah Internasional Ahmadiyah Indonesia, discussed “Challenges of the Role of Indonesian Ahmadiyya Youth in Contributing to the Nation.”
The discussion was attended by hundreds of scholars from various backgrounds and ages, with the majority of participants being from Generation Z and millennials. Participants were encouraged to boldly speak up for truth and justice and to take on roles according to their respective capacities.
Contribution Doesn’t Have to Wait for Success
In the closing session, Mln. Ataul Ghalib Yudi Hadiana, M.Pd., emphasized that contributing to the nation does not require one to have a position, power, or success.
He believes that every young generation can make the best contribution through their chosen field. This is a tangible manifestation of their love for Indonesia.
Zaki Firdaus Syahid delivered a similar message. He encouraged the younger generation to start contributing through simple everyday activities, such as living simply, honestly, and responsibly.
“A simple, honest, and responsible lifestyle is the most tangible way to appreciate independence,” he said.
He added that success is not only measured by what a person has, but also by how much benefit he is able to provide to others.
This spirit, he continued, is expected to be part of the effort to build a more peaceful, just, clean and hopeful Indonesia.
Through this seminar, the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation hopes that the spirit of independence can continue to be passed on to the younger generation, while also being an encouragement to take a role in maintaining unity and making a positive contribution to the nation.
