The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria Elders Group, Majlis Ansarullah, will celebrate its 50th anniversary, Olumo 2026, with a Golden Jubilee Conference in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
A statement signed by the Media Lead, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Dr. Qasim Akinreti, said the conference is scheduled to hold from Tuesday, 19 August to Sunday, 23 August 2026, at Lisabi Grammar School, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta.
The conference, with the theme ‘Faith-Based Solutions to Global Challenges’, will feature courtesy calls on Islamic and traditional rulers, political and opinion leaders, security officials and top government officials in Abeokuta, the state capital.
A two-day free medical camp will also be held at the General Hospital, Iberekodo, Abeokuta. The medical outreach will be declared open by the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Alhaji Azeez Folorunso Alatoye.
The highlights of the conference will include special lectures, prayers for Nigeria, sporting activities, speech contests, Qur’anic recitation and quiz competitions.
The lecture topics include ‘Leadership Lessons for Modern Life: Applying Prophetic Diplomacy in Peace Building’, ‘Increasing Morbidity and Mortality of Non-Communicable Diseases: Role of Early Detection in Prevention and Control’, ‘Khilafah: A Central Pillar of Muslim Unity’, and ‘Memory, Mind and Mental Health in Old Age’.
The leadership of the Elders Groups of Majlis Ansarullah from Benin Republic, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, Cameroon and Sierra Leone are expected to attend the conference.
Among the Special Guests of Honour are governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun; former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; former Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Alhaji Sarafadeen Ishola; and Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka.
Traditional rulers expected at the event include the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo; Olówu of Òwu Kingdom, Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola Oluyalo Otileta VII; and Orunda of Olorunda, Oba Joshua Olusegun Philips Ogunsola Enitan.
The Spiritual Fathers of Honour include Chief Imam of Egbaland, Sheikh Muhammed Sa’ad Alade Bamgbola; Chief Imam of Gbagura, Prof. Kamaldeen Balogun Al-Adabiy; Sheikh Iskeel Kolawole Adisa Lawal, Wakeelu Muslumin Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States and Consultant to the Ogun State Governor on Islamic Affairs; Sheikh Alhaji Quadri Yusuf Jinadu, Grand Chief Imam of Remoland and President-General, League of Imams and Alfas, Ogun State; Sheikh Uthman Fasasi Akewukowo, Grand Chief Imam of Yewaland; Sheikh Miiftaudeen Gbadegeshin Ayanbadejo, Grand Chief Imam of Ijebuland; and Alhaji Imam Tajudeen Mustapha Adewunmi, Secretary-General, League of Imams and Alfas, Ogun State.
