Azhar Khadim addresses Ahmadiyyas during Musleh Maud Day celebrations in Hoshiarpur on Friday.

The event celebrating Musleh Maud Day was held today at the Ahmadiyya Mosque in Purani Kanak Mandi, attracting a delegation from Qadian, district Gurdaspur, led by Azhar Khadim. The programme saw participation from members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat.

The gathering began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Ismail, followed by an address from Azhar Khadim, who shared the historical significance of Hoshiarpur in the Ahmadiyya community’s history. He said it was here, in 1886, the founder of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Sahib, engaged in 40 days of intense worship, which led to the ‘Prophecy of Musleh Maud.’ This prophecy, which foretold the birth of a son with 52 specific attributes, was published on February 20, 1886. Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad Sahib, born on January 12, 1889, was identified as the promised son.

Despite having limited early education, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad went on to write over 200 books and led the Jamaat for 52 years. Under his leadership, the Ahmadiyya Jamaat expanded to over 200 countries worldwide.

Notable guests at the event included Akhtar Hussain Gaddi, Nasir Tariq and Saddam Hussain, among others.
