TEMPO.CO, Depok – The missionary of the Indonesian Ahmadiyah Congregation (JAI) in Depok City, Abdul Hafidz, emphasized that the Joint Decree (SKB) of the Three Ministers did not mention an order to disband JAI.
The Joint Decree of the Three Ministers regarding Orders for JAI Followers and Administrators only prohibits the activity of spreading Ahmadiyah teachings to the general public.
“This means that if we refer to the Joint Decree, there are no prohibitions on our internal activities,” Abdul told Tempo, Friday, October 22, 2021.READ ALSO

On that basis, Abdul said, JAI in Depok City will continue to carry out its internal activities, as long as there are no activities to spread teachings to the community.
“Yes, how can anyone prohibit prayer, we are residents of Depok, we want it to be conducive, we can perform prayers, recite the Koran, we all have the same rights and responsibilities,” said Abdul.READ ALSO

Abdul also said that the house of worship in the Ahmadiyah area of Depok City, namely the Al-Hidayah Mosque, also has a building permit for a house of worship with the number 648.12/4448/IMNB/DTB/2007 dated August 24, 2007.
“The legality is clear, here (Al-Hidayah Mosque) there is a Building Permit, and the Building Permit is clearly a place of worship since 2007, it is legally valid,” said Abdul.
Separately, JAI Companion from the One Justice Foundation, Syamsul Alam Agus, assessed that the Depok City Government’s treatment of his group tended to be discriminatory and did not reflect tolerance in freedom of association and assembly.
“We emphasize that the Depok City government is asserting its position, supporting acts of intolerance,” said Syamsul.
Syamsul said, the activities carried out by the Ahmadiyah congregation in Depok City are limited to daily activities starting from worship and guidance of the JAI congregation itself. “Not to parties or citizens who already have beliefs,” said Syamsul.
Syamsul also asked the Mayor of Depok, Muhammad Idris, to evaluate Mayoral Regulation No. 9 of 2011 concerning the Prohibition of Indonesian Ahmadiyah Activities in the City of Depok.
“The Depok Mayor’s Regulation is in substance contradictory to the Joint Decree of the 3 Ministers, I think this is a distortion that must be corrected,” said Syamsul. “As we know, the guarantee of religion and belief, including worship, is constitutionally guaranteed by the 1945 Constitution and human rights,” he said.
