Solopos.com, SOLO– Around 30 young people took parttraining for peaceat the BRAy Mahyastoeti Library, SecretariatAhmadiyya Congregation of Indonesia(JAI) Solo, Baluwarti Village, Pasar Kliwon District, Solo, Sunday (11/7/2024).

The event was a form of community service by the International Islamic University of Indonesia (UIII) together with Peace Generation Solo. The young people were students from various universities in Soloraya, youth association administrators in Solo, and JAI youth. They joined after going through the registration process.

The training began with a presentation of material from two speakers, namely the Coordinator of Peace Generation Solo and administrator of Aisyiyah, Ninin Karlina, and the Spiritual Mentor/Mullahiyyah of JAI Solo, Muhaimin Khoirul Amin.

Muhaimin explained about the spirit of brotherhood and peace from the perspective of Ahmadiyah. Ahmadiyah is one of the organizations that has a political stance that is obedient to the legitimate government, recognizes Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, and has a prohibition for its members to rebel or create chaos.

“Ahmadiyah has a motto Love for All Hatred for None which is implemented into daily life by spreading tolerance and peace. Encouraging Ahmadiyah members to always participate in social activities and mutual cooperation,” he explained to Solopos.com according to the training.

According to him, JAI Solo members are open to taking roles in the community and other activities, such as seminars. The effort was made to reduce the stigma against Ahmadiyah.

According to him, a number of communities have held meetings at the BRAy Library. Mahyastoeti, for example the Student Publishing and Press Agency from the campus in Soloraya conducted diversity journalism training.

“We are very happy that the International Islamic University of Indonesia is doing activities here. We enthusiastically welcome activities that are intended to increase peace cadres, especially among young people,” he explained.

He said he had the opportunity to convey Ahmadiyah to young people. JAI Solo administrators can provide answers to questions from participants about Ahmadiyah.

Head of the UIII Islamic Studies Masters Program, Zezen Zaenal Mutaqim explained that UIII is one of the national strategic programs of the government of President Jokowi and Vice President Jusuf Kalla.

UIII started its first lecture on September 27, 2021 with a percentage of 45% foreign students and 55% Indonesian students. UIII only has Masters and Doctoral programs. All students who study receive scholarships.

Zezen explained the big theme of his campus’ community service, namely religious moderation, peace, and inclusion. UIII wants to build openness with the surrounding community because there is a stigma against minority groups.

“The stigma against minority groups such as Ahmadiyah and Shia occurs because people do not meet in person. We will facilitate meetings like this, meeting to chat. [Hoax] Ahmadiyah has a new Quran, a new prophet, that is proven if we meet in person, not just theory but sitting together,” he explained.

According to him, JAI has the same holy verses as other Muslims, namely the Qur’an and the same Shahada. JAI is the same as other Islamic mass organizations, including NU and Muhammadiyah.

Zezen said the participants of the training will become ambassadors of peace. They will follow up after the training through activities in their respective communities.
