Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Slough & South Bucks lay wreaths at the Burnham, Cippenham & Slough war memorials on Remembrance Day

Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Slough & South Bucks group laid wreaths at the Burnham, Cippenham and Slough war memorials on Remembrance Sunday.

This follows on from their Poppy Appeal campaign with the Berkshire Poppy Appeal and the Royal British Legion of Burnham, where over three weeks members from the community manned poppy stalls at ASDA in Cippenham, Sainsburys in Uxbridge Road and Sainsburys in Taplow among other supermarkets.

Youthful members of the organisation helped to marshal the parade alongside the Lions Club of Burnham from Gore Road, through Burnham High Street to the Cenotaph on Burnham Village green on Sunday.

President for the Ahmadiyya Elders spoke during the service about the importance of Remembrance and the Poppy Appeal.

Atiq Ahmad Bhatti, President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Slough & South Bucks said:

“Islam teaches loyalty to one’s country, and what can be more humbling than laying a wreath to remember those who fought for our freedom.
