True meaning of Islam to be showcased at major UK convention

Jalsa Salana, the UK’s biggest convention of Muslims, will take place on August 2-4 to showcase what true Islam is and challenge the most common misconceptions around the religion.

35,000 people from over 100 countries will descend on a 200-acre farm in Hampshire, which will be converted into a mini-village for the three days.

It’s being organised by 7,000 male and female volunteers from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, who will also help run an on-site bread factory that will produce 300,000 pieces of roti and naan bread to feed the festival-goers, at an impressive rate of 10,000 an hour.

There will also be a range of South Asian and European cuisine on offer.

Farhad Ahmed from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is inviting people from all cultures to visit the farm and ‘find out if Islam is a religion of peace or not.’

‘Often people have questions about Islam,’ he said.

‘Many know about those who have travelled to Syria to join the so-called and wrongful Caliphate of Isis.

‘However, very few are aware of the true peaceful Caliphate here in the British countryside, which is taking a pledge of allegiance only for people to follow the true peaceful message of Islam.’

‘So on 4 August, the last of the three-day convention, the biggest moment in the event takes place.

‘35,000 plus people will form a massive human chain leading to the hand of the Caliph whilst pledging in unison to follow the true peaceful message of Islam under the leadership of the Caliph, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad.’

Last yearNewStart spoke to Farhad about how the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association raises thousands every year for the Poppy Appeal.

‘The main reason we raise funds is for the servicemen who gave their lives for the defence of our country. If we are ever in any difficulty it would be their requirement to help us,’ he said.

‘It’s a show of our gratitude. Charity is blind and we help anybody whether they are Muslims or non-Muslims.’

  1. Peace be on you. August 4, is final day of UK’s 53 rd Jalsa Salan…. 13.00 UK time = International Bai’at ceremony…… after,16:00 …Address by Hazrat Amirul Momineen Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah be his Helper)..Silent prayer

  2. What did the head of Ahmadiyya Muslims say in his inaugural address to UK Annual Convention’s 39,000 plus attendees and millions of viewers via Muslim television Ahmadiyya (2 August 2019)? === Peace be on you. Hadhrat Khalifatul Messiah V (may Allah be his helper) recited surah al-Fatiha and

“Our Lord, we have heard a Crier calling us unto faith, ‘Believe ye in your Lord,’ and we have believed. Our Lord, forgive us, therefore, our errors and remove from us our evils, and in death number us with the righteous.

    The Holy Quran – Chapter: 3: Aal-e-`Imran

The gist of his words from the early part of the address:

Our gathering here is to express that Allah has enabled us to believe true servant of Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) whose advent was as he PBUH prophesied.

  3. Hadhrat Khalifatul Messiah V (may Allah be his helper) continued (gist) :

Mentioning the importance of Taqwa/righteousness, Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) said, he has been appointed because the field of taqwa (piousness) is empty. Do not raise the sword, it is not allowed (now), if you do Taqwa whole world will be with you, those who drink or alcohol is the main part of their religion they have no relation with God. If our Jama’at struggle against evils, and progress in Taqwa, it will be a great success. See all religions in the world, real objective Taqwa is missing. Worldly honors are considered as God, belief in real God is lost, true God is insulted. Now God wants He should be known and the world should have knowledge of Him. those who think the world is like God they cannot be trusted in Allah. It is not the state of Eman.
