Do not the disbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were a closed-up mass, then We opened them out? And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? (Al Quran 21:30/31)
We’ve all heard of the Big Bang Theory, but what exactly is it all about? In this episode, we explain the sequence of cosmological events that lead to Earth’s creation, and point out the specific verses in the Qur’an that tell us how the universe was created.

Are the disbelievers not aware that the heavens and the earth used to be joined together and that We ripped them apart, that We made every living thing from water? Will they not believe? And We put firm mountains on the earth, lest it should sway under them, and set broad paths on it, so that they might follow the right direction, and We made the sky a well-secured canopy– yet from its wonders they turn away. It is He who created night and day, the sun and the moon, each floating in its orbit. (Al Quran 21:30-33)
