Young Muslims woke up before dawn today to clean the streets of 50 UK towns and cities as a lot of the country were nursing a hangover. More than 1,000 Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) members held a special prayer then put on hi-vis jackets to go out and collect hundreds of bin bags of rubbish from last night’s celebrations.

British Ahmadiyya Imam Qamar Zafar said: ‘From Luton to London, Glasgow to Guilford, Cardiff to Croydon, across the entire country 1,000 members of AMYA participated in the New Year’s Day clean up.

  1. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has said cleanliness is a part of faith. This is very important and even in Canada they took part in this. May their efforts be rewarded, Ameen.

  2. It’s a great job done by young generation of Ahmadiyya Muslim community and it’s good to hear that every year more and more people are joining…..such acts definitely help not only to create neat and healthy climate and hate for spreading such mess in te name of joys but also it promotes peace, harmony and unity of humanity.
