We all suffer, regardless of our faith and this is an area most befitting for interfaith tolerance among the followers of the Abrahamic faiths.  Afterlife is a common theme in all the Abrahamic faiths.  With a little substitution the Christian presentation can become Kosher and Halal for the Jews and the Muslims.
