This is the book of the Islamic scholar Yahia bin Sharaful-Deen An-Nawawi. The book is now known as “An-Nawawi’s Forty Hadiths”. This is a popular small book in which the author gathered 42 sayings of the prophet Muhammed (PBUH).
Forty Hadith Qudsi
It is that which Allah the Almighty has communicated to His Prophet through revelation or in dream, and he, peace be upon him, has communicated it in his own words. Thus Qur’an is superior to it because, besides being revealed, it is His wording.”
This book is was initially based on Ibn Taymiya’s The Good Sayings. From Ibn Taymiyas book, however, it only includes those ahadeeth that Al-Albani included in the 8th edition of his The Authentic of The Good Sayings. It includes the full chain of narration for each hadith.
