Ladies from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association raised hundreds of pounds for Macmillan at a coffee morning last week.

Attendees shared tasty treats at the event in Monkswood Gardens, in Clayhall, last Friday, which raised vital funds for the cancer charity.

About 30 members, friends and neighbours attended the annual event which was part of a national fundraising effort.

The fundraiser – which is known as the “world’s biggest coffee morning”, sees people across the UK come together to raise money to help people who have been affected by cancer.

Samina Siddiqi, vice president of the Redbridge North branch, said everyone enjoyed sampling the collection of sweet and savoury treats for a good cause.

She said: “It was a wonderful event, friends and neighbours helped prepare the spread and attended the awesome event.

“We had a variety of lovely food and raised £330 for the remarkable charity.”
