UK: Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Slough Joins in to Help the Homeless

Bank Holiday Mondays are much like any other day for a homeless person with nowhere to go.

But dedicated members of the Christian and Muslim communities operating together at St Mary’s Church in Slough this week ensured that homeless people who came along at least got a hot lunch.

They do this every Sunday – and on holiday Mondays.

Reverend Andrew Allen, Rector of the Upton cum Chalvey parish that includes St Mary’s, said that several homeless people pitched tents in the church grounds and were never turned away.

As a queue of homeless people queued for their food on Monday he was joined by Cllr Atiq Ahmad Bhatti, president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Slough and young volunteers from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association – all helping dish out the food.
