It is just misinterpretation of teachings of Holy Scripture. Metaphorical terms have to be understood in letter and spirit. It was misunderstood interpretation of Bible which led to this tragedy. It reminds me an incident. Few years back in Hamburg Germany, a leading Christian spiritual man asked Mirza Tahir Ahmad (r.a), the fourth Khalifa of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community that he posses some power from Jesus Christ a.s. and can demonstrate walking on the water. The Ahmadiyya Khalifa asked to accompany him to the see side near Hamburg and if he could demonstrate it. Christian man immediately realised the shallowness of his claim and apologised for the claim and left the meeting.
