From last 3 years by the grace of Almighty, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Croatia participates in Croatian International Book Fair known as Interliber.  It is organised in famous Exhibition halls of Croatian capital city of Zagreb. Spread over two very big halls hundreds of exhibitors enact their stalls and above hundred thousands participants pay visit to this great event. This year the book fair went from 08-13 of November 2016.
Along with display of literature, exhibitors are facilitated to introduce new publications as well to present lectures on topics arousing interest for the participants. Stage with podium, public address equipment, projector, screen and above 150 chairs are provided for the audience.  Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, this year on 12.11.2016 at 13.30 hours, made a presentation on the topic of “Woman in Islam: Removing the veil of Prejudice”  Mr Karlo Brunovic who posses Masters degrees in Philosophy as well in Religious Studies and is engaged in Ahmadiyya literature translation work was assigned this task. The lecture was restricted mainy to the references of Holy Quran. While dealing with the subject he very amicably explained the topic from various angles.

Initially, the poor status of women in pre Islamic Arabia was briefly indicated and contrasted to the bright example of the Holy Quran and Prophet pbuh. Point was highlighted that men and women are spiritually equal in Islam. Then, social roles of Muslim women as daughters, wives and mothers were acknowledged, with special respect given to mothers in accord with the sayings of the Holy Prophet pbuh. Economic rights of women to work, earn money and manage it freely, as well as rights of inheritance were emphasised. Afterwards, Islamic understanding of marriage and divorce was outlined with the focus on women’s rights such as dowry and kind treatment by the husband. Next, the issue of polygamy in Islam was tackled and explained. Finally, the topic of women’s covering was approached with the emphasis on the difference between original Islamic doctrine (hijab) and cultural factors associated with it (niqab, burka, chador).

According the immediate feed back audience which numbered above hundred liked the lecture and congratulated the speaker for his in  depth and thorough preparations as well effective way of presenting it.
