He’s been cancer-free for about two months

Former President Jimmy Carterno longer needs cancer treatments.

The 91-year-old made the announcement at a Sunday school class at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Ga. about two months after he told congregants that he was cancer-free, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. He had revealed last August that he would undergo treatment formelanoma in his brain and liver.

The former president said Sunday that his doctors at Emory Winship Cancer Institute gave him the good news after an MRI last week, according to the AJC. “He said he will continue to get scans and MRI’s and if the time comes that they need to start (treatment) back up, they will,” church member Mandy Flynn told the newspaper.

Carter had undergone treatments from August 2015 until February 2016, his spokeswoman Deanna Congileo told TIME in an email Sunday.
