TEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that the Saudi Arabian government should compensate the past mistakes and abandon the “wrong” path which will lead to no result.
Iran’s main demand is fighting terrorism and establishing friendly ties with the countries in the Mideast region, he said during a meeting with his cabinet members on Wednesday.
He expressed regret over Saudi Arabia’s action in creating a division between Shia and Sunni Muslims.
Elsewhere, he said that the July 14 nuclear agreement between Iran and the 5+1 group is a great achievement.
He said the Zionist regime, Saud Arabia, along with an extremist group in the U.S. are making efforts to impede the implementation of the nuclear accord, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
However, he said that the Iranian people will achieve their goals.
The JCPOA will be implemented soon and the sanctions will be lifted in spite of all the obstructions, he added.
