Nigeria: “Stand firm against corruption”, Ahmadiyya urges Buhari

THE leadership of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria has urged the President – elect, General Muhammadu Buhari to stand firm against corruption and other vices plaguing the country,   as he prepares to take the mantle of leadership for positive change towards   socio -political and economic emancipation of Nigeria on May 29, 2015.

This admonition was contained in a statement issued at the end of the National executive committee meeting of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat at its headquarters in Lagos.

According to the (Amir) Head of the Islamic organisation, Dr Mashuud Adenrele Fasola, “We admonish that the incoming regime should stand firm in the pursuit of truth, social justice and fairplay, probity, transparency, accountability, security of life and property, in the combat of insurgency, barbarism, and violation of human rights, and in the eradication of poverty and promotion of welfare for the generality of all without any discrimination whatsoever in all sincerity and in principle and practice.”

“The Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Nigeria believes that this is the only way to enjoy the protection, favour and special blessings of God of all creation,” the statement reads. The organisation called on Nigerians not to relent in their prayers for God’s forgiveness, perfect protection, excellent guidance, sound health, and long blessed life of service to humanity for the President-elect and other elected leaders.
