Representatives of the major religions will gather in the Maryam Mosque in Ballybrit this Sunday, for an interfaith conference on the theme of Religion, Freedom and Peace.

The theme of Religion, Freedom and Peace has been chosen in light of the global events over the last number of years which have raised questions about freedom of expression versus respect for religious sentiments. The event will provide an open platform and seek to remove misunderstandings about different faiths and to provide common ground for discussion.

The conference is organised by the Galway Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. The public is invited to the event which begins at 4.30pm and includes an exhibition. For more information contact the Maryam Mosque, Old Monivea road, on 091 – 768832.
