No success with out knowing the meaning of the holy Quran! Reading, understanding and then follow the teachings will bring real success and salvation

On Sunday March 15, 2015, Imam Shamshad Nasir was invited to the house of chief Imam Mr. Kaloon of the Sierra Leone Muslim Community in Romeoville, IL.

As a friend of the community, Imam Shamshad was asked to partake in their community gatherings which they hold regularly.

The ceremony started with Sunset Prayer (Maghrib) followed by dinner.

Then the members of Sierra Leone Muslim community started the meeting with the reading of the holy Quran by the chief and local imams. After that they read many prayers and verses from the Quran and listened to different speeches. Then the chief imam and general secretary Mr. Ibrahim invited Imam Shamshad to speak.

Imam Shamshad addressed the community in a very comprehensive manner and directed their attention to the blessings of reading the holy Quran. He said that merely reading the Quran without understanding its meaning would not bring them proper benefits. He stressed the importance of knowing the meaning and keeping it in mind during recitation.

There was another noble purpose of this visit and that was to distribute the copies of Holy Quran to the members of Sierra Leone Muslim and Christian communities. Members of the Sierra Leone Muslim Community had mentioned to Imam Shamshad that they did not have enough copies of Holy Quran to distribute to each household as they wished.

Traditional food is always prepared by the members and they eat together

Imam Shamshad brought many copies of Holy Quran with English translation for that very purpose. So that those who read it could understand the Holy Quran and practice it in their daily life so that they can have successful life. Imam Shamshad provided them with copies of Holy Quran on behalf of Ahmadiyya Mission USA.

A total of 41 copies of Holy Quran with English translation by Hazrat Maulvi Sher Ali (RA) were distributed that day.

After expressing their gratitude for the copies of the Holy Quran, the ceremony ended with a silent prayer.
