“I was really shocked. They were just like any of us.”- Muslim teenage girls speak out against other teenagers travelling to Syria to join Islamic State.

5 live went to a session at Altrincham Islamic Centre Youth Group in south Manchester, where young British Muslim teenagers regularly meet up to talk about some of the issues facing them. We asked what they thought about the young Muslim girls from east London who travelled to Syria to join IS. They say they are “completely shocked” and “can’t imagine why” anyone would want to join Islamic State.
