I read today with great concern, the news, Florida pastor Terry Jones burns copies of Koran outside church. He is once again spoiling the atmosphere of peace and tranquility in our beloved country, USA.
I challenge him or any Christian scholar in USA or else where to debate with me about collection, compilation, and preservation of the Holy Quran versus the Holy Bible.
Debate will take the form of written articles of certain length to be published in national magazines with a certain frequency. Details to be negotiated. I would hope other students of Islam and Christianity with sufficient proficiency will follow this lead.
This would be a much more productive way of showing to the public, the excellences of our respective scriptures, rather than burning books. Because, ‘Where books are burned, they will ultimately burn people also!’

Zia,
This is an opportunity I have been praying for. Although I am not a Bible scholar, I readily sign on.
Given that your challenge is issued on TMT, which has a rather restricted circulation, not many people who would have liked to take part can do so. It will be better if the debate is conducted here on TMT but with a level playing field.
There should be no shifting of the post by way of gagging me which you euphemistically call ‘moderation’. Everyone should be free to air his views.
It is rather curious that the quran burning, which took place about two years ago, has been dug up and presented as evidence of disharmony at a time when the sane world is still wandering what mentality could conceivably produce the monsters who are bent on destroying peace. Why is that incident relevant now if not to dilute the effect of the Paris multiple killings?
Hundreds of copies of the Bible together with its believers are burnt on a regular basis without a passing comment by muhammadans.
Namelee for starters disclose your identity if you want to have a real debate.
As it right now, you may only be a demon or ghost of TMT’s imagination and we do not believe in demons.
Zia’
I am who I say I am and that cannot stop us from having a ‘meaningful’ debate. What matters is not the identity but the points made in support of one’s position.
I am not a ghost or a demon. From our interaction on this site over time, you should have been convinced by now that I exist and I am human. Even if I were a ghost or demon, we can still debate.
From a previous post, I thought the existence of ghosts and demons was scientific nonsense to you.
What has brought about the change of mind?
namelee, in your post you have again addressed the Muslims as muhammadans. You have been told that our religion (Islam) is not based on the name of a place or a person, such as Jesus Christ.
You call your namelee while you are really nameless. You have not revealed your identity as to your school of thought or religious affinity (alliance).
In order to debate with others it is necessary to introduce yourself properly and not as a ghost. There is no guarantee that you will remain within decent limits in debate as you are bent upon calling Muslims as muhammadans. You know that in English language that is called abusing, i.e. calling names.
