AMMAN — Minister of Interior Hussein Majali emphasised at a meeting with Japan’s Ambassador to Jordan Shunichi Sakurai on Monday that Jordan and Japan are bound by strategic and distinguished relations that should be built on in the best interests of the two countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
While reviewing regional developments and the progress of Jordanian-Japanese projects, Majali noted that Jordan needs 72 new schools to accommodate the ongoing influx of Syrian refugees.
The Japanese official, whose country has recently decided on considerable and diverse assistance to the Kingdom, expressed his country’s understanding of the burdens borne by Jordan.
