Ahmadiyya Motto: Love for All, Hatred for Non
Amidst a background of heightened Australian military action against terrorist groups which misrepresent the religion of Islam, members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth continue to reaffirm their commitment to an Australian identity and its associated values of peace, love and tolerance.
This week marks the 32nd national annual youth conference of the Muslim community’s 7 to 40 year age group with a series of competitively played classic Australian sports such as cricket and soccer. Yet the real purpose of this event is to further reiterate the Muslim communities’ simple yet contemporary motto of ‘Love for all, Hatred for none’.
“It’s very encouraging to see the passion and patriotism amongst the youth” said Rana Ejaz Ahmad, National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth. “Many members of the community continue to serve in our defence forces and police services and take an active role within our community as leaders”, he added.
A Mobile Unit Blood Donation has been organised on site at the mosque to encourage members to actively donate. Moreover, it symbolises the act of giving blood to save lives than the spilling of blood to harm lives.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s presence has deep roots within Australian History, with the first Australian, Sufi Hassan Musa to become a member of the Ahmadiyya community dates back to 1903. Its iconic and modern Mosque was built in Marsden Park in 1989 and has received notable dignitaries and politicians over the convening decades. In today’s climate, the mosque serves as not only a place of worship, but a means to spread the message of peace and serve humanity. It forms the cornerstone for building comradery amongst the Australian Muslim youth to continually be a integral and active members of their local community and country.
