The Stevenage branch of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (AMC) hosted a lunch with MP Stephen McPartland, Cllr Sharon Taylor – leader of Stevenage Council – and deputy mayor Cllr Jacqueline Hollywell.
Sagheer Ahmad, president of the Stevenage AMB branch, was the first speaker at the event and talked about the charitable work the community does locally. Police sergeant Manjit Khela also spoke before lunch was provided.
Mr McPartland said:
I am pleased to join the Ahmadiyya Assoiciation in their celebration of Eid Milan as I have in previous years, and enjoyed the incredibly warm welcome as well as the wonderful food.
I am proud to have the Ahmadiyya Association in our community.”
Jackie Hollywell Deputy Mayor added: “I have learnt a lot about the association and I wish them continued success in their endeavours.”
