9^th August 2014: Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Kolkata organized Eid Milan Function at Hotel Golden Park, Kolkata. Function started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Bengali Translation by Maulana Zahurul Haque Sahib.

Faith leaders, Government officials, Politicians, NGO Leaders, Academician, Doctors, Police officers and intellectual dignitaries from all walks of life attended the function.

‘Eid was named ‘Eid because it returns every year with renewed happiness.Today the Islamic world is passing through a painful and miserable time of victimization. The main reasons i.e. disagreement, lack of trust and unity among the Muslim countries, that is why in some country the countrymen are fighting with their fellow countrymen, in some countries peoples are fighting with their governments and in some countries governments are doing injustice with their citizens. Therefore, others are taking undue advantages of such circumstances and committing wrong for their vested interest.

It is painful to see that entire world is silent at the present ongoing slaughtering of innocent Palestinian women and children by Israel. And on the other hand the Muslim world thinks that mourn is enough for Palestinians.

Utpal Chatterjee Former Sheriff of Kolkata

Mr. Utpal Chatterjee the former Sheriff of Kolkata, praised about the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for their efforts to bring leaders of different faith under one roof and share their happiness. He also added that all the religions and communities of the world should follow the verdict of their own scriptures as indicated by Maulana Shashtari Sahib to counter terrorism and extremism in order to maintain peace and harmony

Sardar Satnam Singh Ahluwalia the General Secretary for Behala (Kolkata) Gurudwarah Committee has enlightened in his speech that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is always in the forefront for the cause of oppressed humanity, if at any point of time the community needs any assistance to that effect for the causes of humanity, in such event, they are inclined to do so.
