“Ramadan Kareem,” President Obama says to Muslim faithful

United States President Barak Obama has extended his best wishes to the Muslim faithful as Ramadan begins all over the world, saying “Ramadan Kareem.”

“On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I extend our best wishes to Muslim communities here in the United States and around the world on the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan,”Obama said in a statement released by the White House on Sunday.”

At 01:55 GMT  a White House  tweet read: “Ramadan Kareem.” —President Obama extends his best wishes to the Muslim community on the beginning of Ramadan.

In the statement posted on the White House website, the United States President noted that the Muslim Ramadan is “A time for self-reflection and devotion through prayer and fasting, Ramadan is also an occasion when Muslims around the world reaffirm their commitment to helping the less fortunate, including those struggling because of economic hardship and inequality.
