Salimuddin Sahib, the spokesperson for Jama’at Ahmadiyya expressed his grief at this latest killing and said that in the past year seven Ahmadis have been killed on account of their faith, six of whom were killed in Karachi. He mentioned that in Aurangi Town members of the Kiyani family had in the past been made the target of sectarian violence and that the majority of incident involving Ahmadis in Karachi occurred in this locality. He said that it was obvious from this that there is an organized and coordinated effort to target Ahmadis in this way. He said that the sacrifices Ahmadis are being made to make only serve to strengthen their resolve. No amount of terrorist acts would weaken the community, nor would any Ahmadi waver in the face of such atrocities. He added that groups and organizations who associate themselves with Khatme Nubuwwat openly issue fatwas declaring Ahmadis deserving of death. Moreover opponents of the Ahmadiyya Jama’at regularly publish and distribute hate literature which direct people to boycott or even murder Ahmadis. However, the relevant government institutions take no notice of this and as a result innocent Ahmadis continue to be killed. He urged the authorities to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice as soon as possible.
