“We are shocked and appalled at the manner in which she has been humiliated by the US authorities. We have taken it up forcefully with the US government through our embassy in Washington. We are also reiterating, in no uncertain terms, to US embassy here that this kind of treatment to one of our diplomats is absolutely unacceptable,” spokesperson in the ministry of external affairs Syed Akabaruddin said here.

  1. Instead getting furious wait for the details. Diplomat immunity however should be ensured if agreement prevails between US and India. Those serving in diplomat missions are not sacred cows. Just human beings and can get tempted to worldly attractions.

  2. At a US airport I was checked more intensively than when I entered the US Embassy in Baghdad. Not exactly ‘humiliating’ (I was not hand-cuffed at least), but rather silly the whole exercise. Usama bin Laden really deserves a Nobel Price in economy. Who else created as many jobs?!
