40 Maps That Show How The World Works
By: Joe Berkowitz
Recently, a collection of quirky maps made the rounds online. The Washington Post followed with its own collection and a different perspective.

While the former mainly stuck to fun facts, (such as every country England has ever invaded) and satire (for instance, the world according to Americans), the Worldviews’ 40 maps tend to be more useful for understanding the current state of the world (for example, the best and worst countries in which to be a mother.) Taken together, the two sets of maps offer up a surplus of perspective on the relative merits and follies of each corner of the world.
Have a look through some of our favorites in the slides above.
