Heraldnet: Two faiths connect
Jews and Muslims in the Puget Sound plan to break ritual fast together at an event in demonstration of two faiths observing common traditions to build a stronger community.
The “Two Faiths, One God” is scheduled from 7:30 to 9:30 tonight at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Center, 19212 Highway 99, Lynnwood. It will highlight the Jewish fast of Tisha B’av and the Muslim fast of Ramadan. Speakers from Temple B’nai Torah and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will reflect on their traditions and meanings of this day. This event is free and open to the public.
YWCA offers parenting class in Everett: The YWCA is offering a 10-session parenting class on building family strengths. Classes are from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Wednesday from July 17 through Sept. 18 at the Everett YWCA.
