30th International Quran Competition kicks off in Tehran

TEHRAN — The 30th International Quran Competition was inaugurated at the Summit Conference Hall in Tehran on Friday.

Reciters and memorizers from over 70 countries are participating in this year’s competition, the State Endowment and Charity Affairs Organization announced on Saturday.
Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini, Chairman of the Supreme Leader’s office Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammadi Golpayegani, and Iran’s State Endowment and Charity Affairs Organization Director Hojjatoleslam Ali Mohammadi attended the opening ceremony.
Sheikh Anwar Shahat Anwar and Sheikh Yahya Raghib Sharkawi, two famous Quran reciters from Egypt, are also the guests of honor this year and are scheduled to recite Quran during… read the rest @ tehrantimes.com
