May 27 – is being observed as ‘Khilafat Day’ by Ahmadi Muslim throughout the world. After the demise of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad – the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in May 26, 1908, the system of Khilafat (the Spiritual Leadership in Islam) was re-established in May 27, 1908, in accordance with the promise by Allah the Almighty in the Holy Qur’an (Ch: 24, Verse: 56).
Given below is an excerpt of the Friday Sermon of Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Supreme Head of the world-wide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Islam, delivered on 24th May 2013, at ‘Baithul Noor’, Calgary, Canada. gave a discourse on the system of Khilafat in Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Islam.
Ahmadiyya Khalifa started his sermon by reciting verses of Holy Qur’an from Chapter 24 and verses 52 – 57, the meaning of which are:-
Allah, the Exalted, says:
“The response of the believers, when they are called to Allah and His Messenger in order that he may judge between them, is only that they say: ‘We hear and we obey.’ And it is they who will prosper. “(24:52)
“And whoso obeys Allah and His Messenger, and fears Allah, and takes Him as a shield for protection, it is they who will be successful.” (24:53)
