A horrific accident occurred on May, 3 in Soreze on the M1 highway at about 9:30. 10 people were killed, 46 injured and 26 admitted to hospital. Three person are in a critical state at Jeetoo Hospital. Twenty six have been admitted to Jeetoo hospital. Seven women and three men were killed in this terrible accident.

There were scenes of panic and dismay this morning at Soreze near the new roundabout leading to the ring road. Some were caught in the wreckage while others had already passed away. Emergency services, firefighters, the police, the SAMU immediately reached the spot and were ready for any eventuality. Several volunteers joined the team of the emergency services.

The Prime Minister, Dr Navin Ramgoolam conveyed his convalescences to the grieved and announced a national day of morning tomorrow.
