FPI Behind Ahmadiyah Attack in West Java

TEMPO.CO, Bandung – West Java Police Chief, Inspector General Tb. Anis Angkawijaya, says the Islamic Defender Front (FPI) was behind the attack on the Ahmadiyah community at Salawu and Singaparna sub-district in Tasikmalaya, West Java, on Sunday, May 6.

A number of homes and mosques were targets of the attack. “The FPI attacked the homes of the people. Four homes had their windows smashed,” said Anis in Bandung yesterday.
West Java Police spokesperson, Grand Comr. Martinus Sitompul, said the attack was conducted by approximately 300 FPI members.
