Jemima Khan has tweeted reassurance that her politician ex-husband Imran Khan is recovering following his fall from a mechanical lift at an election rally yesterday (May 7).

The former cricketer was treated for head wounds and spinal injuries in hospital after falling approximately 15ft with several others while on the campaign trail in Lahore, Pakistan ahead of Saturday’s (May 11) general elections.
Retweeting a message from the BBC shortly after news of the incident broke, writer and campaigner Jemima added: “He’s in hospital & conscious now.”
She later forwarded on a comment from Imran’s nephew saying: “Chairman [Khan] reciting kalma in ambulance- he is fine – plz just pray.”
Jemima continued to keep followers updated on her former spouse’s condition, tweeting about four hours after his fall: “A rallying cry from the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). Go Imran! #NayaPakistan #May11th.”
