In Western Sydney over the weekend thousands of Ahmadiyya Muslim’s gathered at the country’s largest mosque, for the day, to celebrate their 38th annual convention.

Amid the prayers, sermons and dialogue, came a flag-raising ceremony, where the Australian flag was hoisted alongside the Ahmadiyya flag and adherents chanted ‘Australia zindabad!’ (Long live Australia) followed by ‘Allahu Akbar’ (God is the greatest).
Slogans “love for all hatred for none”, and “loyal to Australia” were featured prominently on large banners and dotted on affiliated vehicles around the celebrations.
News.com.au attended the event, alongside approximately 4000 others including guests from 14 countries.
For the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, the chants were an expression of both religious faith and civic loyalty.
