عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلّى الله عليه وسلّم قَالَ‏: مَا يُصِيبُ الْمُسْلِمَ مِنْ نَصَبٍ وَلاَ وَصَبٍ وَلاَ هَمٍّ وَلاَ حُزْنٍ وَلاَ أَذًى وَلاَ غَمٍّ حَتَّى الشَّوْكَةِ يُشَاكُهَا، إِلاَّ كَفَّرَ اللَّهُ بِهَا مِنْ خَطَايَاهُ‏‏.‏

“Hazrat Abu Hurairah^ra narrated that the Holy Prophet^sa said, “No fatigue, nor illness, nor anxiety, nor grief, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim – even the prick of a thorn that pricks him – except that Allah, through it, wipes away some of his sins.”
