The Bogor City Government finally sealed a mosque belonging to the Ahmadiyah Congregation located in Sindang Barang Hamlet, Sindang Barang Subdistrict, West Bogor District, Bogor City, on Monday (March 4). The sealing was carried out after hundreds of Sindang Barang residents staged a protest against the mosque’s continued use for JAI activities.

Representing the Mayor of Bogor, Assistant for Community and Development Administration Edgar Suratman, accompanied by several Sindang Barang community leaders, sealed the Al-Mubarok Mosque by affixing Mayoral Decree No. 300.45122, concerning the prohibition of Ahmadiyah activities in Bogor City, to the mosque’s wall

As the head of the Bogor City JAI Handling Team, Edgar explained that his team was responding to public concerns about the continued activities of JID in Bogor City. "The Mayor's Decree clearly states that JAI is not permitted to conduct its activities, including Friday prayers," Edgar said after sealing the area.
He also explained that if other JAI mosques were still conducting JAI activities, the Bogor City Government would also seal them. "We'll see first if other JAI mosques are still operating, and if there are still activities, they will be sealed as well," said Edgar.

After the sealing, security forces asked residents to leave the area and return to their homes. "The sealing has been carried out. I hope all residents will return to their homes. Please entrust this to us (the police)," said Commissioner Irwansyah, Head of Operations for the Bogor City Police.

  1. Amazing how authorities, whether in Pakistan or Indonesia, are giving in to violent mobs, rather than controlling them…
