The air in various cities across Indonesia felt different this morning. The sun had barely risen, but the enthusiasm of members of the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation (JAI) was already burning. In dozens of locations from Aceh to Papua, hundreds of thousands of participants gathered in fields, mosque courtyards, and public areas designated by the committee. From children to the elderly, everyone looked enthusiastic, wearing sportswear, hats, and carrying water bottles

This Saturday (September 20th), members of the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation (JAI) took to the streets to exercise together. This activity was more than just a regular workout, but rather a momentum to unite in welcoming the centenary of Ahmadiyya Muslims in Indonesia.

The Ahmadiyya community first arrived in the Indonesian archipelago in 1925, marked by the arrival of its first missionary, Mln. Rahmat Ali H.A.O.T., who later received his first oath of allegiance in Tapaktuan, Aceh. From that small town on the tip of Sumatra, the Ahmadiyya community’s long journey of da’wah and tabligh (Islamic outreach) began, reaching every corner of the country. Now, one hundred years later, the Ahmadiyya community has spread throughout the country, and that historic moment is commemorated through the footsteps of its members.
