Solo [SPFM], The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Solo allows the Ahmadiyah congregation to remain in Solo City, as long as they do not actively spread their teachings. This was expressed by the Chairman of the Solo MUI Zainal Arifin Adnan on Wednesday (30/03). Zainal acknowledged the existence of the Ahmadiyah congregation in Solo City, but the congregation’s activities are on hiatus and they also do not have a mosque.
Zainal also prohibited acts of violence against this congregation to maintain conduciveness in the city of Solo. The Solo MUI stated that Ahmadiyah is not part of the Islamic religion, because their teachings are not in accordance with Islamic law. The MUI will provide guidance to this congregation slowly, so that they return to the correct Islamic law. Zainal added that his party has also sent a letter to the Solo Police Chief regarding the presence of the Ahmadiyah congregation in the city of Solo. [SPFM/lia]
