TEMPO.CO , Jakarta – Dozens of people wearing batik shirts have arrived since 08.30 WIB at the Baitul Affiyat Building, Mubarok Campus owned by the Ahmadiyah Congregation , Bogor, Saturday, August 31, 2024. They wanted to attend the National Insight Discussion to welcome the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia held by the Indonesian Ahmadiyah Congregation.
The dozens of people came from various circles ranging from representatives of religious organizations, civil society organizations, human rights activists, to journalists. Their arrival was greeted by Ahmadiyah congregations who uniformly wore black suits.
National Amir of Ahmadiyah Indonesia, Maulana Mirajuddin Syahid, said that this seminar aims to deepen the values of national insight which is the main foundation in maintaining the unity and integrity of the nation. National insight is also the key to maintaining the identity of unity amidst the current political dynamics.
“Moreover, it is an obligation for Muslims to love their own nation,” said Mirajuddin in his speech.
According to Mirajudin, the Indonesian Ahmadiyah Congregation has implemented national insight in the life of the nation and state. National insight is not only used as knowledge but also an attitude to love the homeland. The love of Ahmadiyah can be seen from the struggle of its figures since the pre-independence era.
“The Ahmadiyah congregation made many contributions both in the pre-independence and post-independence eras,” said Mirajuddin.
Mirajuddin said, there were many figures of the Ahmadiyah congregation who fought for independence. One of them, R Moh Muhyiddin. In the reform era, Ahmadiyah figures also implemented national insight. A number of Ahmadiyah figures, for example, received the Pancasila Achievement Icon.
The Ahmadiyah congregation is also involved in social activities such as donating corneas. This activity made the Ahmadiyah Group receive a MURI record award as the community with the most cornea donor members. Advertisement
Head of the Social and Humanities Research Organization of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Ahmad Najib Burhani, said that one proof of Ahmadiyah’s national attitude was proven by the Call of Khalifatul Masih II to Support Indonesian Independence in 1945. All Ahmadiyah members around the world, totaling 2 million, were asked to fast on Mondays and Thursdays. “Calling on the leaders of Islamic countries to recognize the Republic of Indonesia,” said Najib.
Najib said that the call for fasting was a form of Ahmadiyah’s struggle from a spiritual perspective. According to Najib, Ahmadiyah is an organization with spiritual goals. It is not a political and economic organization. Therefore, the call for fasting is a form of Ahmadiyah’s spiritual movement to support independence.
“Independence is also thanks to the grace of Almighty Allah. One form of expression carried out by Ahmadiyah is by fasting on Mondays and Thursdays,” said Najib.
Deputy V of the Presidential Chief of Staff, Rumadi Ahmad, said that this discussion of national insight needs to be carried out amidst the development of the times. The development of the times does indeed make changes. Even so, the changes must be interpreted as an effort to strengthen national values.
Likewise with this meeting. Many elements of society were present to follow the discussion held by the Ahmadiyah congregation. He hopes that this meeting can open up a space for discussion between elements to strengthen national values.
“In the past, there were problems or conflicts because there was no meeting space. Now, there is a space that allows people to meet. The hope is that national values can be strengthened,” said Rumadi.
