TEMPO.CO, London - Tens of thousands of Ahmadiyah congregants and invited guests from various countries from various countries will attend the 2024 Great Britain Jalsa Salana at Oakland Farm, Alton, England. This largest annual Ahmadiyah meeting will be held on 26-30 July 2024.

A number of Ahmadiyya congregations from Iran, Japan and Australia have started arriving at Heathrow Airport on Thursday, July 25 2024. From Tempo's observations, they came in groups and were welcomed by the local committee of the Ahmadiyya Moslem Association United Kingdom. Some of the guests were accommodated in Surrey University student flats.

National Amir of the Indonesian Ahmadiyah Community, Maulana Mirajuddin Sahid, said, "jalsah" means large gathering and "salanah" means annual. So, jalsah salana can be interpreted as a large Ahmadiyah gathering. According to him, the Ahmadiyah congregation in Indonesia also regularly holds jalsah salana every year.

"The difference is that in England it is always big and attracts the attention of the Ahmadiyah congregation throughout the world and interfaith figures from many countries because there the Khalifatul Masih V Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad is domiciled," said Maulana. Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad is the khalifatul or leader of the world Ahmadiyya.

Yendra Budiana, Press Secretary of the Indonesian Ahmadiyah Jemaah (JAI), said that Indonesia routinely sends caravans or delegations to attend jalsa salana in the UK and many other countries. According to him, this year the JAI group attending was around 42 people who will later be joined by 40 thousand other UK Jalsa Salana participants.
