The Holy Quran: Allah is the First and the Originator of Everything!

Epigraph:

He is the First and the Last, and the Manifest and the Hidden, and He knows all things full well. (Al Quran 57:3)

بَدِيعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِذَا قَضَىٰ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ

He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth, and when He decrees something, He says only, ‘Be,’ and it is. (Al Quran 2:117)

The holy Quran repeatedly tells us that God is the Creator of everything, for example: “He is Allah, the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner. His are the most beautiful names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him, and He is the Mighty, the Wise.” (Al Quran 59:24)

The Quran also highlights that Allah is the First, as quoted in the epigraph above and He is mentioned several times in the Quran as the Originator of everything, meaning that He created all things from nothing. Nothing existed other than him, before He started. No matter, no energy, no souls, no mathematics, no numbers, no logic, no propositions. He is the One and the Only. The following are some of the verses that mention Him being the Originator:

He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth, and when He decrees something, He says only, ‘Be,’ and it is. (Al Quran 2:117)

All praise is due to Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth. (Al Quran 35:1)

He is the One who originates creation and will do it again– this is even easier for Him. He is above all comparison in the heavens and earth; He is the Almighty, the All Wise. (Al Quran 30:27)

‘I have turned my face toward Him Who originated the heavens and the earth, being ever inclined to God, and I am not of those who associate gods with God.’ (Al Quran 6:89)

The Originator of the heavens and the earth! How could He have a son when He has no spouse, when He created all things, and has full knowledge of all things? This is God, your Lord, there is no God but Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him; He is in charge of everything. No eyes can reach Him, but He reaches human consciousness. He is the All Subtle, the All Aware. (Al Quran 6:101-103)

It is very important to teach to the Muslim children how God is the Creator because it is in denying this attribute of Allah that atheist philosophers try to find their foundations. The holy Quran confirms that, for example in Surah Yasin it says that denial of both Monotheism and accountability are based on the negation of Allah’s creation:

Can man not see that We created him from a drop of fluid? Yet– lo and behold!– he disputes openly, producing arguments against Us, forgetting his own creation. He says, ‘Who can give life back to bones after they have decayed?’ (Al Quran 36:77-78)

Therefore, I keep on collecting and writing evidence for Allah’s attribute of being the Originator and the Creator of our universe. For example:

The best proof against atheism is to imagine what they profess: What if nothing exists, no God a total blank!
