The holy Quran says in Surah Ankaboot, which means the Spider:

Muhammad, you never recited any Scripture before We revealed this one to you; you never wrote one down with your hand. If you had done so, those who follow falsehood might have had cause to doubt. But no, this Quran is a revelation that is clear to the hearts of those endowed with knowledge. No one refuses to acknowledge Our revelations but the evildoers. They say, ‘Why have no miracles been sent to him by his Lord?’ Say, ‘Miracles lie in God’s hands; I am simply here to warn you plainly.’ Do they not think it is enough of a miracle that We have sent down to you the Scripture that is recited to them? There is a mercy in this and a lesson for believing people. Say, ‘God is sufficient witness between me and you: He knows what is in the heavens and earth. Those who believe in false deities and deny God will be the losers.’ (Al Quran 29:48-52)

The Quran in the above verses says that the critics demand a sign or a miracle and then answers them that is the Quran not a sign or a miracle enough?

The Quran is sign or a miracle because of how and to whom it was revealed. It is a sign because of it’s positive effects on the lives of the believers. It is a sign because it shows that its author knows every secret of the heaven and the earth.

The seventh century Arabs were demanding new and personal miracles, while denying existing miracles in the Quran and the Bible and in the history of the prophets and the saints. The present day agnostics or atheists do the same. Allah does not offer signs and miracles on demand, even though He has said several times in the Quran that He does hear the sincere prayers of the one in extreme grief or agony, regardless of his or her past.

Other verses elsewhere highlight other aspects of the Quran being a miracle. As the Muslims believe the Quran to be the literal word of God, here, I want to collect the posts that highlight Omniscience of Allah, especially His knowledge of science that was simply not known or even thought about in the 7th century Arabia:
