• Almost two dozen male, female Muslim names feature in top 100 lists
• For girls, Layla topped the list of Muslim names at 31st

LONDON: Muhammad is again the most popular baby name for boys in the UK this year, new data has revealed.

Statistics from BabyCentre, reported on by The Mirror, show almost two dozen Muslim names for boys and girls among the top 100 for each gender.

Other Muslim names for boys in the top 100 included Ali, Abdullah, Ibrahim, Abdul, Musa, Ahmed, Yusuf, Omar, Zayn and Hamza.

For girls, Layla topped the list of Muslim names at 31st. Other popular names included Maryam, Fatima, Nur, Aisha, Zahra and Raya.
