Solopos.com, SOLO– Indonesian Ahmadiyah Congregation or JAI Soloroutinely carry out blood donation activities in collaboration withPMI Solo Cityfor the last 20 years. A number of membersJAI Solohas received an award from PMI.

JAI Solo Spiritual Leader/Preacher, Muhaimin Khoirul Amin, said that the humanitarian activity was initiated by one of the people who contributed to the early establishment of the JAI Solo organization, namely BRAy Mahyastoeti Notonagara, to be precise around 2003.

“Since 2003, when we were still BRAy Mahyastoeti, we have held blood donations every three months. “However, PMI’s recommendations are now routine every two months,” he told Solopos.com , Tuesday (17/10/2023) morning.

According to him, there are wing bodies of the JAI organization that deal with the health, education and humanitarian sectors. Blood donation is one of the humanitarian programs carried out by the Indonesian Ahmadiyah Congregation.

“Until now, we want to be of benefit to fellow humans by helping prepare PMI blood stocks,” he explained.

Meanwhile, JAI Solo held a blood donation activity in collaboration with PMI Solo City at the BRAy Mahyastoeti Notonagara Library, Baluwarti Village, Pasar Kliwon District, Solo, Sunday (15/10/2023) afternoon.

Muhaimin said members of the Ahmadiyah Congregation performed recitation at around 10.00 WIB then prayed Zuhr prayers, had lunch, then donated blood. Local residents also participated in blood donations.

“There were around 22 people who donated blood. Yesterday many people couldn’t have their blood drawn. “They are our members and local residents,” he said.

According to him, a number of JAI Solo members have received awards from PMI because they routinely carry out humanitarian activities in the form of donating blood, including one from the Ahmadiyah Congregation from Tawangmangu up to 75 times.

Based on the JAI Solo archives, the arrival of the Indonesian Ahmadiyah Congregation to Solo began with the presence of Ahmadiyah Congregation figures around 1994. They heard news of each other’s whereabouts and then they held a meeting.

The Solo Ahmadiyah Congregation was formed on July 16 1994 after holding Friday worship at one of the residents’ houses, Makno Karto Raharjoyang in Sangkrah Village, Pasar Kliwon District, Solo. This routine lasted from 1994 to 1998.

However, two months after that, stones were thrown at Makno’s house. Makno’s house is no longer used. Then the Solo Ahmadiyah Congregation moved to the building purchased by KRA BRAy Mahyastoeti Notonagara.

BRAy Mahyastoeti Notonagara is the grandson of Sinuhun Paku Buwono Now the number of JAI Solo members is around 200 people. The total number of JAI members in Soloraya is around 1,000 people.
