Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was born in Qadian on February 13, 1835 AD or 14 Shawwal 1250 H. Qadian is located 57 km east of the city of Lahore, and 24 km from the city of Amritsar in Punjab, India. Since childhood, he has studied the Arabic text of the Koran and Persian grammar from his teacher.
Not only studying religion, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad also studied a number of medical works from his father, Mirza Ghulam Murtaza. From 1864 to 1868, he worked as a clerk in Sialkot. In this place, Ghulam Ahmad often argued with Christian missionaries.

Quoting from ahmadiyah.id, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is a descendant of Haji Barlas, a king of the Qesh region descended from Amir Tughlak Temur’s uncle. When Amir Temir attacked Qesh, Haji Barlas and his family were forced to flee to Khorasan and Samarkand and began to settle there.

For almost half a year, Ghulam Ahmad did fasting in order to get pleasure from Allah. Besides struggling to uphold his religion, he also wrote many books containing the truth against Hinduism and Christianity.
His name began to be widely known by the public after his writings were published in newspapers. At that time, Ghulam Ahmad wrote many books which he believed to be divine revelations. One of his famous books, Barahiyn Ahmadiyah, was printed from 1880 to 1884.
After the book Barhiyn Ahmadiyah was read by many people, Ghulam Ahmad had many followers. Right in December 1888, he claimed to have received a revelation from God and his followers had to pledge allegiance to him. After that, on March 23, 1889, the process of allegiance was held in Ludhiana City, which marked the birth of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Not a few scholars who challenged and advised Mirza Ghulam Ahmad to repent and stop his preaching. Although many have warned him, this effort did not dampen his intention to continue to spread his da’wah.
Many parties objected to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s attitude in submitting a prayer to challenge Maulvi Sanaullah’s mubahalah, namely if both of them were heretics and falsehoods. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, who was 62 at the time, and Maulvi Sanaullah, who was from Amritsar, were 29 years old.
Meanwhile, responding to the opposition, Maulvi Sanaullah could only remain silent for a few years. After several years of silence, his supporters pressured him to speak up in response to the mubahalah.
